Ike track is swept by Seneca

The Eisenhower boys and girls track and field teams both suffered a loss to Seneca on Tuesday.

However, despite the loss, Eisenhower’s Alex Hummel qualified for districts with his third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.50.

The Seneca boys team swept the meet and won by a score of 129-20.

Austin Hannold managed a second place finish in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 20.28, Ethan Nizzi took second in pole vault with a height of 9’6″ and Caleb Penley was second in discus with a distance of 109’3″ for the Knights.

The girls fared a little better, with three first place finishes, but still lost 125-25.

Mackenzie Dunn was a double-winner for the Knights, taking first in shot put at a distance of 32’4.5″ and first in discus with a distance of 76’10”.

Rayna Hultman took first in Javelin for the Knights and Logan Grove finished second. Grove and Hultman helped Eisenhower sweep shot put with second and third place finishes, respectively.

Emily Grosch had Eisenhower’s highest track finish, taking second in the 400 meter at a time of 1:10.4.
