Ike’s Lookenhouse, Darling make Region 2 First Team

Eisenhower's turnaround from last year's 5-13 season to a 13-10 overall record, second place in Region 2 and a spot in the District 10 playoffs can be attributed to the new program installed under first-year coach Ryan Mangini, but the hard work of his players, namely two in particular have been has been noticed and rewarded.
Senior Curt Darling and junior Wyatt Lookenhouse have been chosen to First Team spots on the coveted Region 2 all-star team. Darling averaged 12.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 steals and one blocked shot per game was instrumental for the Knights.
"Curt was our most versatile player consistently throughout the season, he could beat you from the outside with a 3-pointer or taking it strong to the hoop," Mangini said. "He used his height to clamp down on our opponent's best player; his athleticism allowed him to switch seamlessly off of one player to another."
Lookenhouse averaged nearly 17 points, eight rebounds and a blocked shot per game and was the target for opponents to shut down his talent shone through for the Knights.
"Wyatt is a relentless scorer and rebounder," Mangini said. "He has a knack for finding the ball and finishing the play; a skill that is tough to teach. He used his relentless drive to just make plays for us all year.
"Both players improved as the season went on," Mangini added. "This is well deserved and certainly sets the bar high for our younger players."
Both Knight players were joined on the First Team by seniors Nathan Held of Cambridge Springs; Matthew Bennett of Union City; and Jaden Wilkins of Saegertown; and junior Brady Greco also from Saegertown.
Held and Bennett were named Region 2 co-Players of the Year.
