Warren’s John Seyler edged teammate Graham Carr at the finish line to claim the victory for the Dragons in boys cross country action Tuesday against Seneca and Corry.

Both runners were credited with times of 18:05.

In the girls race, Warren’s Katie Beyer bested the field in 20:32.

Warren was unable to field a full team for either the boys or girls races.

“We were down a lot of athletes today due to various reasons,” Warren head coach Kevin Dustin said. “There were some strong runs for our kids as we come into the last couple of meets of the year.”

Elementary runners are pictured.

Warren’s junior high girls also beat Seneca and Corry to complete an undefeated regular season. The Dragons’ Lilly Newton was first in 11:48.

“After the first invitational of the year, they realized how good they were and set their sights on an undefeated season,” Dustin said. “They accomplished their goal and now set their sights on the district meet.”

Warren’s junior high boys also picked up a pair of victories. The Dragons’ Gavin Heeter was fifth.

Warren also hosted an elementary race on Tuesday. Elsie Woldt won in 5:10 and Nina Woldt was second in 5:15.

“This was the first year we have had an elementary program and it was quite the success,” Dustin said. “We opened the running club up to third through sixth grade. … It was really awesome to see these little Jr. Dragons come out and run.”
