Tallahassee, Eau Claire remain unbeaten

GAME 5

EAU CLAIRE OVERPOWERS HAWAII

The boys from the Ohio Valley Region can mash.

Eau Claire, Wisconsin pounded out 17 hits, including 13 in the fifth and sixth innings, en route to a 17-4 six-inning victory over Hawaii.

Leading the way for the winners were Zach Shipman (two doubles, two RBIs) and Aidan Pankratz (RBI) with three hits apiece; Tyler Barrows (two doubles, four RBIs), Austin McGraw (RBI) and Evan Weiler collected two hits each; and Blake Bugher drilled a three-run double.

Through three innings, Hawaii led, 4-1, as the Pacific Southwest Region champions pushed across all their runs in the third, highlighted by RBI singles by Ace Arizumi and Hudson Nishina, and a sacrifice fly by Alika Ahu.

After that, it was all Eau Claire, who put the game away with five runs in the fifth inning and 11 in the sixth.

Austin McGraw was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Cameron Buchman. Together, they scattered six hits, including a double by J.J. Shinagawa.

Ace Arizuma was the Ron Tellefsen Player of the Game for Hawaii. Shipman claimed that honor for Eau Claire, which won its opener, 5-1, over Tallassee, Alabama on Saturday.

GAME 6

TALLAHASSEE ROLLS AGAIN

The Southeast Region champions are making it look easy.

Gavin Harper and Trace Morris combined on a seven-hitter, and Harper helped his own cause with a double, a single and three RBIs to pace a 17-hit attack as Tallahassee, Florida rolled to its second straight 10-0 victory, this time over Puyallup (Washington) Babe Ruth League.

Colby Tadder (double) and Gavin Ford (RBI) both had three hits; J.W. Meeks (double, RBI) contributed two hits, and Holton Harris (RBI) and Nate Dietz both doubled for the winners, who now have 30 hits in two games and have outscored their opponents, 20-0.

Bradley Dinelt, Puyallup’s Ron Tellefsen Player of the Game, had two hits for the Pacific Northwest Region champions. Harper earned the same honor for Tallahassee.

GAME 7

ATLANTIC SHORE BREEZES

The kids from Southern New Jersey poured it on in the fifth and sixth innings to break open a close game en route to a 15-4 victory over North Buffalo that was stopped in the sixth inning via the 10-run rule.

Atlantic Shore led, 5-3, through four innings, but erupted for 10 runs in their final two at-bats to win going away.

Leading the way for the Middle Atlantic Region champions were Colin Thompson (double), Ryan Baldwin and Will Hickman with two hits apiece. T.J. Santarpio smacked an RBI double, and Bernie Hargadorn drilled a run-scoring triple in support of the pitching trio of Dillon Singleton, Thompson and Jake Blum.

Thompson was named the Ron Tellefsen Player of the Game, while Camilo Ramirez, who had two hits, earned the honor for North Buffalo.
