Right where they want to be.
The Jamestown Jackals swept Carolina, 2-0, in the best-of-three series in The Basketball League Eastern Conference playoffs Friday at Warren Area High School.
Much like the playoff opener on Wednesday, Jamestown led every quarter in a 131-114 victory.
Up next is round two — the TBL Elite 8 — against a familiar opponent, Syracuse.
“We’ve played them eight times, so there aren’t a lot of secrets between us, and almost every game has been down to one or two possessions,” said Jackals coach Brandon Lesovsky.

The Syracuse Stallions swept the Raleigh Firebirds on Friday — the same night Dane Miller’s 27 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists lifted Jamestown.
Seven Jackals scored in double digits. Jon Lee added 20 points, Freddie McSwain 17 points, and Christian Nobles 15 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds.
“Our goal was to win quarters,” said Lesovsky. “In the first quarter, we started out well and let them come back a little bit like we did last time, but we still won the quarter, 31-26. And then the second quarter was 31-29. I didn’t think we were playing great, but we still won both quarters. Then, when we finally got going, all of a sudden we’re up 20. In a short series like this, you want to finish them off; you never want to let them get confidence. Our goal was to definitely get this over with, and get on to the next as quickly as possible.”
Jamestown hit five 3-pointers in a 28-17 third quarter to improve a 62-55 halftime lead to 90-72.
The Jackals scored 41 points in the fourth to win in a rout.
Anthony Moe, Glenroy Carr, and Bernard Edwards contributed 13 points each in the win. The Jackals were 28-of-34 at the free throw line, including Nobles’ 5-for-5 in the fourth.
Eric Eaves led Carolina with 25, and teammate Deshaw Andrews hit eight 3-pointers for 24 points for the Coyotes.
“We’ll host Syracuse one game, and then go out there for two, since they’re the top seed,” said Jackals owner Kayla Crosby.
Syracuse is 23-4, including 16 straight wins. The Stallions won five of eight against Jamestown (18-6).
The site of Tuesday’s opener is to be determined, but Crosby said the hope is to have the game again at Warren Area High School.
“We’ve had great support in Warren,” Crosby said.
