Five Knights to play in senior baseball game

DuBOIS — Five Eisenhower Knights senior baseball players will get one more opportunity to represent their school on the diamond.

First baseman Jared Beers, center fielder Zane Alexander, outfielder Dillon Benson, pitcher/shortstop Owen Trumbull and pitcher/catcher/third baseman Teagan Gray have all been selected to play in the inaugural Keith Miller Memorial Invitational High School Baseball All-Star game at Showers Field today.

The Knights helped lead their team back to the postseason after a 9-7 regular season to earn a spot in the District 10 Class 2A playoffs. Eisenhower bowed out after losing a close contest to West Middlesex.

Fifty players representing 23 different high schools in Districts 9 and 10 have been selected to fill the rosters of both teams.

The teams will be coached by Penn State-Dubois coaches Tom Callisto and Mike Nesbit.

Today’s game will start at 6:30 at Showers Field, 311 Maple Ave. in DuBois.
