ERIE — Senior Teagan Gray improved to 3-0 on the season as Eisenhower beat Iroquois 5-2 in Region 3 baseball Saturday.

Gray threw a complete game with nine strikeouts while allowing six hits and no walks.

“He had an outstanding day,” Eisenhower coach Clint Corse said. “He threw just 80 pitches in seven innings.”

The senior held the Braves scoreless in six of their seven innings, allowing just a pair of runs in the fourth inning.

“It’s good to have guys we can depend on,” Corse said. “He’s definitely one of them.”

Iroquois tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, but Zach Rohlin hit a two-run single in the top of the fifth inning to give Eisenhower the lead for good.

Gray held the Braves scoreless for the remainder of the game and Jared Beers hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning for the final margin.

The Knights return to action today at home against Maplewood.
