INDIANA, Pa. — The Clarion Men’s Golf Team finished the 57th annual Spadafora IUP Invitational, hosted by IUP, in sixth place.

The Golden Eagles finished the two-day tournament with a team score of 611. Shepherd won the tournament with a team score of 593, just eight strokes ahead of Bluefield State College.

Clarion shot a team score of 308 last Tuesday, representing a five-stroke difference from last Monday’s round of 303.

Warren native Nick Giambrone made the biggest jump on the leaderboards on Tuesday, advancing 20 spots to finish tied for sixth with a two-day total of 148, shooting just one over par on the afternoon. Willie Hoover followed up Monday’s round of 72 by carding a 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 11th place overall with a two-day score of 149.

Owen Elliott from Shepherd was the top individual golfer, posting 69 to finish even par for the tournament.

Mitch Faulkner shot a round of 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 16th.

Ryan Robinson posted a 78 on Tuesday after an impressive 76 on Monday to finish tied for 22nd with a tournament total of 154.

Will Meyer and Tanner Houser rounded out the scoring for the Golden Eagles, with Meyers posting a round of 82 on Tuesday, while Houser shot an 81.
