Five Eisenhower wrestlers advance

SAEGERTOWN — Five Eisenhower wrestlers and one from Youngsville advanced to next weekend’s District 10 Championships after the Section 3 Class 2A tournament Saturday at Saegertown.

Jake Williams, Easton Hedman, Gannon Jaquay, Cole Kellogg and Cael Black moved on for the Knights while the Eagles’ Collin Clough also advanced.

At 132 pounds, Williams beat Cochranton’s Stephen Martinec in the final after getting by Union City’s Daithin Kent in the semifinals.

Hedman moved on in the next weight class, 138 pounds, by beating Cochranton’s Willis Morrell in the final and Zachary Beckwith in the semifinals. Morrell advanced to the final after beating Youngsville’s Aidan Mancuso in the quarterfinals.

At 145 pounds, Clough lost to Saegertown’s Jaden Reagle in the final after beating Corry’s Trey Proper in the semifinals. Reagle had gotten to the final by beating Eisenhower’s Alex Hummel in the semifinals. Hummel made it there by beating Cochranton’s Isaiah Long.

Jaquay won the 152-pound bracket by beating Union City’s Clay Thomas in the final and Cochranton’s Nathaniel Roberts in the semifinals. Thomas had beaten Youngsville’s Gavin Bundy in the quarterfinals.

At 120 pounds, Cochranton’s Ethan Shoup beat Kellogg in the final after Kellogg had beaten Cambridge Springs’ Logan Gerow in the semifinals. Kayden Reyda beat Youngsville’s Mason Henry in the quarterfinals.

Black lost to Corry’s Hayden Linkerhof in the 215-pound final after beating Cambridge Springs’ Jordan Miller in the semifinals. Linkerhof had previously defeated Youngsville’s Cody Jespersen in the quarterfinals.

Eisenhower’s Mikael Beaver made it to the 189-pound semifinals by beating Saegertown’s Mathew Nale in the quarterfinals, but lost to Union City’s Nick Kaday. Youngsville’s Caden McCune had previously lost to Corry’s Shawn Proctor in the quarterfinals.

At 106 pounds, Cochranton’s Daylen Schlosser beat Youngsville’s Allyson Henry in the quarterfinals.

Youngsville’s Ian Mancuso lost to Cambridge Springs’ Brody Beck in the 113-pound semifinals.

At 126 pounds, Corry’s Damion Kinney beat Eisenhower’s Derek Childs in the quarterfinals.

Eisenhower’s Tucker Lindell lost to Saegertown’s Jacob Reisinger in the quarterfinals at 160 pounds. Youngsville’s Michael Crane also lost in the quarterfinals, to Corry’s Brady Steele.

At 172 pounds, Eisenhower’s Josh Parker lost to Corry’s Dylan Gourley and Youngsville’s Damon Reese lost to Cochranton’s Kyle McDivitt, both in the quarterfinals.

At 285 pounds, Eisenhower’s Tristen Wilcox lost to Corry’s Xavier Reyda in the semifinals after beating Union City’s Braxton Kent in the quarterfinals.
