Childress, Ruhlman lead Warren at Oil City

OIL CITY — An 18-3 second quarter jump-started Warren en route to a 54-18 nonleague girls basketball victory Wednesday.

Riley Childress scored 9 points and Emma Ruhlman added 8 in the decisive period for the Dragons (13-3).

Warren led 12-6 after the first quarter before Childress converted a three-point play and added a pair of 3-pointers in the second. Ruhlman made three field goals and added a pair of free throws.

The Dragons then added a 15-4 third quarter to put the game away.

Ruhlman finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Childress had 14 points and four assists. Kelsey Stuart added 10 points and Gracie Ruhlman grabbed seven rebounds.

Emma Stahl led the Oilers with 8 points and Maddy Marczak added 7.

UNION CITY — A 16-point first quarter was plenty for Union City in a 42-11 win over Eisenhower.

Eliza Reynolds, who recently surpassed 1,000 points for her career, scored 7 of her game-high 20 points during the opening eight minutes for the Soaring Eagles.

Delaney Chase led the Knights with 6 points, seven rebounds and two steals while Bella Marino had three steals, three blocked shots and three assists.
