Ike wrestlers post victory, boys basketball team falls

RUSSELL — Eisenhower will have a little momentum heading into its wrestling match today against Saegertown.

That’s because the Knights turned in an impressive effort against Seneca on Friday evening.

Cael Black claimed an 18-2 technical fall at 215 pounds; and Josh Parker (172), Michael Beaver (189) and Anthony Rivera (113) recorded pins as the hosts rolled past Seneca for its first win of the season.

In a junior varsity match, Brock English of Eisenhower won via fall.

KNIGHTS LOSES ON ROAD

COCHRANTON — The Eisenhower boys basketball team fell to Cochranton on Friday, 60-33.

Tyler George led a balanced offensive attack for the winners with 15 points, 8 coming in the first half when the visitors opened up a 31-17 lead.

Chase Miller added 9 points and Keeton Grimes and Wyatt Barzak had 8 apiece.

Owen Trumbull paced the Knights with 11 points, and Curt Darling and Luke Smelko both had 8.
