Girls stifle Corry in 50-14 victory
Warren’s girls basketball team hit six 3-pointers and held Corry to two points in both the second and third quarters in a 50-14 Region 6 win Saturday at Warren Area High School.
“Great minutes today from two of my freshmen, Halle (Kuzminski) and Sam (Ruhlman),” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan, whose Dragons are 6-1. “Cara (Munksgard) got her first varsity start and gave us some great minutes. We have to continue to improve each time we get on the floor.”
The Dragons improved on Saturday as the game progressed, outscoring Corry 12-2 in the second quarter and 17-2 in the third.
Riley Childress hit four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points and five assists. Emma Ruhlman had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Warren hosts Erie on Tuesday in a region game.
“Erie will be ready for us Tuesday,” said LaVan.
