D10 X-Country is Saturday in Titusville

TITUSVILLE — The District 10 Class 1A and 2A cross country championships will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Ed Myer’s Complex.

Class 1A schools can begin to arrive on site at 8:30 a.m., and fans will be allowed starting at 9:15 a.m. before the girls race at 10 a.m. and the boys race at 11:10 a.m.

Eisenhower will join Iroquois, Lakeview, Saegertown, Seneca and Wilmington in the girls race, which expects to have a field of 81.

Cochranton, Greenville, Iroquois, Rocky Grove and West Middlesex will participate in the boys race, which expects to have a field of 72 runners.

Class 2A schools can arrive on site at 12:30 p.m., followed by fans at 1:15 p.m., before the girls race at 2 p.m and the boys race at 3:10 p.m.

Conneaut, Corry, General McLane, Hickory, Titusville and Villa Maria will lead the girls race in a field of 75.

Cathedral Prep, Conneaut, General McLane, Grove City, North East and Oil City will make up the field of 83 in the boys race.

Masks will be required for all individuals consistent with the current Pennsylvania Secretary of the Department of Health order. Coaches, athletes and spectators must wear face coverings unless they are outdoors and can consistently maintain social distancing.

Athletes are not required to wear face coverings while actively engaged in competitions that prevent the wearing of face coverings.

Spectators will not be permitted around the start and finish lines, and parents may meet with their children after the race in the parking lot closest to the finish line.

It is recommended that spectators view the race from the soccer bleachers or the Oil Creek Bike Trail.

The top team in each division plus six individuals not on the top team will advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Championships on Nov. 7 at the Giant Center in Hershey.
