MEADVILLE — Despite missing three of four senior captains due to injury, Warren defeated Meadville, 4-2, in District 10 Region 4 boys soccer Saturday.

John Page, one of three remaining seniors active for the game, led the Dragons with 20 tackles and 17 steals.

“Page played with relentless energy and controlled the midfield and tempo of play the entire match,” Warren head coach Denny Flatt said.

Defensively, Ethan Best, Holden Creal, Sean Duckett and Ricky Madril helped Warren stay in the game.

“Ricky Madril has really come out this season ready to play,” said assistant coach Chris Darling. “He is working hard and really giving opposing teams trouble in the middle. He has been a lock-down defender.”

Jack Darling, JT Blum and Parks Ordiway dominated in the midfield, with Ordiway netting three more goals to bring his season total to 19 in just six games. Corbin Reinard scored the other Dragons goal. Page, Darling and Blum each had an assist.

“Mark Lynds did a nice job in the other forward position,” Coach Darling said. “Roman Sheets and Kohle Lyon provided some solid minutes off the bench.”

Warren improves to 6-0 on the season ahead of Tuesday’s home game against Saegertown.
