Kinzua Soccer Club’s 15U boys travel team opened its season with a 4-0 win at Greenville on Sunday.
Off a steal, Finn Ordiway put Kinzua up 1-0 at the half. Bergen Nelson was Kinzua’s first-half goalie. Gavin Rex gave Kinzua a cushion early in the second half and Nelson, after moving to forward, scored twice more for the 4-0 win.
Jack Lynds made several second-half saves in goal to ensure the shutout. Reid Olsen and Chase Sitler made several nice passes forward from midfield, and Casey Seymour, Lucy Bigelow, Brody Alexander and Logan Degnan helped pressure Greenville’s goalie all game.
Starting defenders Casey Rich, Grady Corey, Adon Maier and Jack Napolitan, as well as Cole Fitzgerald limited Greenville attempts the entire match.
