WARREN, Pa. — Joe Saber of Irving, Pa. picked up the first ace of his 35-year career on the links last month at Jackson Valley Golf Club.

Saber used an 8-iron on the 152-yard, par-3 12th hole, landing the shot five feet behind the pin where it spun back into the cup.

Gary Freeborough, Dru Freeborough and Shay Font served as witnesses.

Dale Johnson led the Youngsville City Men’s League, rolling a 226-638 at Valley Bowling Center.

Other scores were CJ Jones 235-637, Troy Stewart 222-609, Mike Creeley 225-588, Al Kuzminski 228-585, Cole Cressley 222-585, Alex Johnson 218-564 and Kelly Gustafson 182-508.

In the Youngsville Ladies League at the Valley Bowling Center, Candy Vinopal rolled a 195-552, Cheri Wolfgang 182-489, Flip Morris 188-467 and Cindy Reasbeck 190-465 in last week’s action.

This week, Reasbeck hit a 188-528 and Jen Robinson had a 169-494.
