Big 30 Charities game canceled
This summer’s Big 30 Charities Classic football game has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The committee has met several times in an effort to do whatever it could to make the game a reality,” the committee announced in a press release. “With time restraints coming upon us and the schools where the practices were to be held still in limbo as to the opening, the committee was really in a tight spot, with too many ‘ifs’ and ‘maybes’ to move into the final stages of the planning.”
The all-star game, which pits recently graduated high school athletes from New York and Pennsylvania, has been played at Bradford High School for years.
“It’s a sad day for us. We love putting this game on for the kids and their families and fans,” the press release continued. ” … To all who have supported our game, we thank you. The committee will meet soon to see what we can do for the players, queens and cheerleaders in a way to show our gratitude for their willingness to participate in our game.”
