Senior Day — Sawyer Mohney
Recognizing our senior athletes from the almost 2020 spring season
Today’s senior is Sawyer Mohney of the Warren track & field team:
Parents: Dennis and Bobbie Mohney
Spring sport: Track
Events: Discus, javelin and shot put
Coaches: Coach Kara and Coach Miller
Other sports: Soccer, Football, Bowling, and Swimming
Favorite sports memories: Scoring the goal that won D10, playing in the state tournament, scoring my first point in football, police escort into town after winning D10, meeting some of my best friends.
What is your favorite thing about being involved in sports? The challenge of trying to get better every year.
Setting and achieving individual goals.
What will you miss most about high school sports? The coaches that have worked with me and challenged me and the different personalities on the teams.
What has living through this crisis as a high school senior taught you? It pushed me to live in the moment and take opportunities while I still have the chance.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? France or Italy
Preferred pet? Dogs
Favorite hobby? Hiking, reading, and playing the piano.

If you could only have one artist/group on a repeat playlist, who would it be? KYLE
What is something that people would be surprised to know about you? I can play 14 different instruments.
What is the best piece of advice that someone has given you? Coach Miller telling me over and over again to get out of my head.
Plans after graduation: Attend SUNY Fredonia for Applied Mathematics and Accounting and eventually work as an Actuary.
Message to underclassmen: Be willing to try new things, you never know where you will succeed without taking new opportunities when they are available.
