Senior Day — Payton Hefright

Payton Hefright

Today’s senior is Payton Hefright of the Eisenhower track and field team:

Parents: Craig and Jennifer Hefright

Spring sport: Track

Events: Sprinter and jumper

Coach: Darlene Beach

Favorite sports memories: Last-minute relay teams just for fun, our ongoing game of tag, lit bus rides.

What is your favorite thing about being involved in sports?: The sense of unity you form with your teammates when you’re all working towards one goal and lifting each other up.

What will you miss most about high school sports?: Having the chance to stay in shape while spending time with my friends.

What has living through this crisis as a high school senior taught you?: Anything could happen. The universe doesn’t know or care about your plans, so it’s important to be able to adapt and learn that life is about the journey.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?: Crema, Italy

Any pets?: I don’t own a pet but right now, but I’m fostering an adorable Cairn terrier named Halle.

Favorite hobby?: Watching movies and making fun of them with my friends.

Favorite social media platform?: Tumblr, because the people are the funniest.

If you could only have one artist on a repeat playlist, who would it be?: Skating Polly

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?: I have recurring nightmares about water parks. No idea why.

The best piece of advice given to you: Don’t fear rejection, and don’t make assumptions about why rejection happens.

Plans after graduation: Go to Slippery Rock University in the fall and figure out what I wanna do for the rest of my life.

Message to underclassmen: The world is so much bigger than just high school. Don’t sweat the small stuff, and stay positive.

Name one person who has inspired you: I would say my English teacher Mrs. Ludwig, because she’s passionate and has a big heart, she helped me a lot!
