CORRY, Pa. – The Warren Lady Dragons made quick work of host Corry in their regular season finale on Monday.

Emma Ruhlman scored 14 points and Riley Childress 13 as all of the Lady Dragons got to see the court in a 44-16 win.

“It was good, everybody got at least two quarters in and a lot of them all four,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “I was happy with the effort.”

The Lady Dragons, who finish the regular season at 15-7 overall and 7-3 in Region 6, scored the first 22 points of the game against a shorthanded Corry (2-19, 0-10) squad.

Taylor Childress knocked down a pair of 3’s, Teagan Paris collected five steals and Ruhlman eight rebounds in the win.

The victory also officially locked up the No. 1 spot from Region 6 in the District 10 Class 5A playoffs, securing a first-round bye.

The defending District 10 champion Dragons won’t play again until the 5A quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 22.

IROQUOIS 70, EISENHOWER 43

ERIE, Pa. – Lilee Renninger had another big game on offense with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough, as the Eisenhower Lady Knights fell to Iroquois, 70-43 in their season finale.

Angelina Meola made 17 shots from the floor on her way to a monster 37-point game for the winners.

“We played with them, we just got tired as the game went on,” said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue. “It was a very physical game.”

The Lady Knights trailed at the half, but cut the margin to six in the third quarter, prompting an Iroquois timeout.

Meola hit 3 out of the timeout, however, to seize the momentum back.

Emiley Wheeler finished with a double-double in her final game in an Eisenhower uniform with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Renninger also had a double-double with 10 rebounds.

“Lilee Renninger really stepped up on offense the last two games,” Logue said.

Bella Marino also had three blocks and three assists from her guard spot. Just a freshman, she will be among a large group of returning players next season.

“Just stressed to them you have to work hard and put the time in,” Logue said of his message to the younger players. “I think they really learned the speed of the game this season.”
