Ike boys fall at Cochranton

COCHRANTON, Pa. — Cochranton had four players in double figures in a 71-49 Region 3 win over visiting Eisenhower Tuesday.

The Cardinals connected on seven 3-pointers and scored at least 15 points in each quarter. The Knights nearly matched the long balls, six, but was held under 15 points in every quarter.

“This was just a tough road loss,” Eisenhower coach Wayne Lundmark said.

Cochranton (5-14 overall, 5-5 Region 3) led by just three, 17-14, after the first quarter, but exploded for 21 points in the second to open a 38-26 halftime lead over Eisenhower (6-12, 3-7).

The Cardinals outscored the Knights by 10 in the second half.

Jaiben Walker finished with 19 points in the win. Jon Gallo and Wyatt Barzak had 14 each and Tyler George added 11 in the win.

Jared Martone had a game-high 26 points for the Knights. Zane Alexander was the only other Eisenhower player in double figures with 11 points.

Eisenhower hosts Region 3 leader Cambridge Springs Friday.

Cochranton won the junior varsity contest, 45-25.

George led the Cardinals with 13 points.

Keagan Eckstrom paced the Knights with nine points.
