Tough night for Sheffield against Elk County Catholic
The Sheffield girls basketball team dropped an AML North home game to Elk County Catholic on Monday, 51-21.
Taylor Newton led a balanced ECC attack with 12 points.
The Lady Wolverines had a strong fourth quarter with 11 points. They were led by Marissa Grubbs’ eight points. Allison Schmader and Lily Lauffenburger added four each.

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Sheffield found tough sledding against the No. 2 ranked Class A team in Pennsylvania, falling on the road at Elk County Catholic, 75-30.
Eleven different Crusaders found their way into the scoring column, led by Jordan DePrator’s 15 points.
Tony Richards knocked down a pair of 3’s on his way to a team-high eight points for Sheffield, while Mitch McNeal added seven.
