Eagles roll past Commodore Perry for 6th straight win

HADLEY, Pa. – Gage Hendrickson scored 19 points and Timber Bower 13 as the Youngsville Eagles overcame a slow offensive start to roll past Commodore Perry for their sixth consecutive win, 53-20.

The Eagles (9-3) were once again excellent defensively, taking control of the game with an 11-3 second quarter.

The second half was a much different story, as the Eagles outscored the Panthers 35-11, including 15-1 in the third quarter.

“We played the way we needed to in the second half,” said Youngsville coach Jesse DeLoof. “That being said, if we start slow like this again it will cost us.”

DeLoof praised the play of junior guard Joe Mack.

“Joe bounced back and showed the leadership we expect from him,” his head coach said.

The Eagles return to game action on Friday, hosting Union City.

“We will need two good practices to be ready for Union City on Friday,” DeLoof said. “I’m hoping there are a lot of Youngsville Eagle fans in attendance to watch these boys compete.”
