ST MARYS, Pa. –The Warren swim team opened its season with a sweep at St. Marys Monday.

The boys nearly doubled up their hosts with a 71-36 win, while the girls came away with a 94-83 victory. Both the boys and girls teams saw a number of swimmers qualify for districts as well.

The girls took first in all but two events, the 200 medley relay and 100 breaststroke. Katie Beyer took first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, as well as swimming the first leg of the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams. Paige Johnson won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, and was on the 400 free relay team. Gabrielle Hahn won the 50 and 100 freestyle and was part of 200 free relay. Kirsten Johnson took first in the 100 backstroke and was part of the 400 free relay. Sophie Olson was on both the 200 and 400 free relay squads.

For the first time since 20?? Warren took part in the diving portion of the meet. Katie Madigan took first with 181.4 points, while Brooke Alyssa finished third.

Derek Hahn was a 4-time winner for the boys, with individual firsts in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. He was also on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams. Max Harrison won the 200 freestyle and Connor Fehlman took first in the 100 breaststroke. Fehlman was also on the 200 medley relay with Hahn, Graham Carr and Nick Gordon, while Harrison teamed with Fehlman, Hahn and Tommy Rice on the 200 free relay.

The Dragons head to Mercyhurst Prep Thursday.
