Sitler, Nyquist earn D-10 volleyball honors

Warren's Jordan Sitler.

The honors just keep coming for Warren volleyball players.

Dragons Lex Nyquist and Jordan Sitler were named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association All-District 10 team the PVCA announced late Monday. Nyquist was a first team honoree and Sitler earned second team honors.

“(Jordan) came into her own and was a terrific leader and our main offensive threat, as well as one of the best finishers in the district,” Warren coach Mike Dolan said. “I’m looking forward to big things from Jordan next season. She’s been working super hard.”

Sitler set a career-high with 263 kills this season. She also had a 26.9 hitting percentage and a 44.3 kill percentage. The junior middle hitter had 27 blocks and 28 digs on the year as well.

Nyquist had 813 assists on the year to bring her all-time program leading total to 2,846. She set a career-high with 271 digs, which moved her into second on the program’s all-time list with 758. Nyquist was also a strong net force with a career-high 45 kills and 20 blocks.

“After the season Lex had as a junior, she definitely did not rest on her laurels,” Dolan said. “She continued to put the work in to make herself the best she could be.”

Sitler will return for one more season with the Dragons, while Nyquist heads to Bloomsburg next year to continue her career.
