Lady Knights fall at Kane Tournament

KANE, Pa. – Eisenhower led Kane by 1 after the first quarter, but the Lady Wolves went on a 17-3 run to take control en route to a 52-30 win in the opening round of the Kane Holiday Tournament on Friday.

“Kane came out and played a little halfcourt 2-2-1 trap and we threw the ball away too much,” said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue. “It wasn’t like they were beating us, we were beating ourselves with it.”

Kane, coached by former Sheffield boss Brandon Troutman, got a balanced offensive effort, led by Sarri Swanson (14 points) and Sierra Hillman (12).

Emiley Wheeler had a monster game for the Lady Knights, scoring a game-high 19, to go along with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Freshman Bella Marino added seven points for EHS.

Kane also went to the free-throw line 28 times, with the Lady Knights getting in foul trouble in the second quarter.

“Just reaching and not moving our feet,” Logue said of the fouls. “That gave them a lot of opportunities. They also hit two 3’s in that quarter as well when we were trying to help and recover.”

The Lady Knights will meet Clarion in the consolation game today at 3:45 p.m.
