LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Following a top-five finish in Connecticut last week, California University of Pennsylvania sophomore Rachel Wilson (Warren, Pa./Warren) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

Wilson finished in third place on the individual leader board last week while competing at the Lady Eagles Invitational hosted by Post. She fired a 16-over 158 (78-80) after setting a career high with six birdies, plus recorded an eagle on the par-five first in the final round. Wilson carded a seven-over 78 in the opening round last Sunday after tallying four birdies on the back nine. In the final round, the 5-foot-10 sophomore played the front nine at two-over following the eagle and a birdie on the par-four eighth.

The reigning PSAC Freshman of the Year, Wilson ranks second on the team this fall with a scoring average of 81.6 strokes, which is over a three-stroke improvement from last season. She posted a team-best finish for the first time in her career last week and has registered a pair of top-five finishes this year.

Cal U closes the fall season this weekend when it competes at the PSAC Championships in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 18-20.
