Lady Dragons ease past Franklin
FRANKLIN, Pa. – The Warren Lady Dragons continued their winning ways on Tuesday, scoring four first-half goals en route to a 5-0 victory over Franklin.
Ella Ordiway scored a pair of goals to help lead the winners, while Sawyer Mohney, Kyra Wotorson and Lauren Anderson had one apiece.
After several chances early in the game, Warren was able to get on the scoreboard when Mohney stole the ball from a Franklin defender and blasted a shot past the keeper.
Ordiway quickly made the lead 2- by finishing off a pass from MJ Fadale.
Warren (9-3-1 overall, 8-2 Region 6) continued to pressure the Franklin goal in quick succession with goals byWotorson and Ordiway, with Jessica Susz and Wotorson providing the assists.
“We were happy to see the girls get a rhythm going. Once they found the back of the net they poured it on,” said Warren coach Jeremy Bickling.
Anderson was able to finish off a corner kick from Georgie Bickling to net her second goal in as many games.
” We are super fortunate to have the senior leadership we do, but our freshman have stepped up, especially over the past few games,” Bickling said.
Warren continued to pressure the Franklin goal in the second half but was not able to finish off a few opportunities to put in more goals.
“We rested some players in the second half,” noted Bickling. “We have a few dinged up players we are trying to get healthy for our late-season games. We were pleased with our passing tonight and the amount of time we possessed the ball. We’ll take the win and continue to prep.”
Thursday’s scheduled game against Oil City will now be played on Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.
