Dragon netters conclude season at D-10 doubles

ERIE, Pa. – The Lady Dragons tennis team concluded its season Thursday by traveling the Westwood Racket Club in Erie to play in the D10 doubles tournament.

Warren’s No. 2 doubles team of Rylie Yeager and Amanda Gray defeated Erie’s Kailyn Fedak and April Paw, 8-5 in the first round, only to fall to Fairview’s Trinity Fox and Audra Carnes 8-1 in the quarter-finals.

In the first round, Warren’s No. 1 team of Kamryn Moore and Madalynn Perry fell to McDowell’s Abby Idzik and Natalie Miksa, 8-2.

The third doubles of Katie Moore and Isabella Shingler fell to McDowell’s Sam Becker and Brooke Lowry, 8-0.

“These girls have worked hard all season and today was no different”, said coach John Parroccini.

Coach Kimberleigh Parroccini added: “For all of these girls, it was their first trip to district championship and it all came down to the draw, which was very strong this year. This didn’t stop the girls from giving 100% and we were very proud of them.”
