Warren volleyball spikes Meadville

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Warren volleyball team turned in its most impressive performance of the season to date, sweeping Meadville 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.

“We played how we are capable of and when we do that, we can be good like tonight,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan, whose team won for the second time this week. “We played a complete game, working together and fighting for points and staying on the attack against a well-coached, physical Meadville team.”

Leading Warren in the victory were Meredith Morrison (6 aces 4 digs), Olivia English (4 kills 2 digs 1 block 1 ace), Lex Nyquist (3 aces 12 digs 1 block 34 assists), Jordan Sitler (9 kills 2 blocks), Hannah Shattuck (8 kills), Katie Madigan (23 digs 5 assists), Grace Wortman (1 ace 10 kills 2 digs 1 block) and Halee Mineweaser (2 aces 11 kills 4 digs 1 block).

“We’ll need to consistently put games like this together as the season progresses,” Dolan said. “Halee played very well all-around. Hannah has some big attacks. Meredith did a great job serving and playing defense. Jordan, Grace, and Olivia were all very effective at the net. Katie and Lex continue to give our hitters high-quality chances.”

The Lady Dragon JV squad fell in two, 16-25, 15-25.

Morrison (10 digs), Kirsten Johnson (1 kill), Jayna Baldensperger (1 kill), Cara Munksgard (1 kill) and Carly Beers (1 ace) paced Warren, which is in action on Saturday at the Clarion Tournament.
