Lady Dragons roll past Meadville

MEADVILLE, Pa. – In what has become one of the best rivalries in District 10, the Warren girls soccer team got two goals each from Kyra Wotorson and Kyleigh Wilson en route to a 6-1 over the Meadville Bulldogs on Tuesday.

The two teams have squared off numerous times in the playoffs the last four years, with last season going the way of the Dragons.

Tuesday was a continuation of that, as Warren jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Both teams came into the game with identical 5-2 records, and it was the Lady Dragons that struck early and often. Wilson scored two first half goals, assisted by Wotorson and Georgie Bickling. Wotorson opened the scoring on an assist from Wilson and Mohney had the second goal, courtesy of a Wotorson feed.

Wotorson scored her second of the game in the second half, while freshman Ella Ordiway continued her scoring prowess with a goal in the final 40 minutes as well. Bickling and MJ Fadale had the assists on those markers.

Liz Adams scored Meadville’s lone goal in the first half. Warren’s Alyssa Andersen and the Lady Dragon defense was once again superb in the victory.

The JV team also scored a 3-1 victory. Andersen had two goals and Mikaala Deppen the other.
