Lady Dragons fall at Corry

CORRY, Pa. – Warren volleyball went on the road Saturday night and fell to a talented Corry team, 25-15-, 25-12, 25-15.

“We had a hard time finding the floor on the other side against a confident Corry team,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan. “We still need work on playing the game more efficiently and doing the little things consistently. Right now we are also making too many errors which is putting us behind the 8-ball in these matches against quality opponents.”

Leading Warren was Grace Wortman (11 kills, 9 digs, 1 ace), Lex Nyquist (23 assists, 8 digs, 1 ace), Jordan Sitler (5 kills), Hannah Shattuck (4 kills), Olivia English (3 kills), Halee Mineweaser (5 digs), Katie Madigan (2 aces, 17 digs, 32 serve-receptions) and Carly Beers (1 ace).

We had quite a few bright spots, as we played a number of high-level competitive points with some fantastic defensive plays,” noted Dolan. “We just have to figure out a way to finish more often. Grace had a very nice game all-around. Lex and Katie again are doing a great job on the first two contacts. I’m confident that Jordan and Olivia will continue to be forces at the net going forward. Halee, Hannah, and Meredith are all making plays and gaining valuable experience that will pay off down the road.”

The JV team fell 25-22, 25-17.

Leading Warren was Brooke Edwards (2 kills, 1 dig), Ellee Irwin (2 kills, 4 digs), Isabel Wortman (1 kill), Jayna Baldensperger (1 kill), Gracie Gatto (1 kill, 1 ace), Meredith Morrison (5 assists, 4 digs, 1 ace), Carly Beers (3 assists, 1 dig, 2 aces) and Cara Munksgard (1 kill, 1 ace).

The Dragons are at Villa on Tuesday.
