GIRARD, Pa. – The Warren golf team continued to take steps forward this season with a solid outing Tuesday at the Elk Valley Golf Course.

The Dragons shot a 347 as a team, good for third place at the fourth Region 6 Mega Match, with McDowell as the host. The performance moved Warren to within a point of Meadville for third place in the region. The top two finishers square off for the District 10 title at season’s end.

Erie Cathedral Prep again finished first with score of 297 and Evan Rowane carding a 68 to take top individual honors.

Warren’s Selvie Pearson shot an 83 to lead the Dragons and finished ninth. Teammate Owen Blum was right behind with an 86 to finish 10th. Drew Swanson finished just outside the top-10 with an 88 on the day. Jared Bupp shot a 90 and Teagan Gray a 94 for Warren.

None of the top team scores were particularly close. McDowell was second with a 319, 22 strokes behind Prep. Warren’s 347 was 28 behind the Trojans and Fort LeBoeuf finished 18 behind the Dragons with a 365. Meadville (389) was fifth, with Erie (396) sixth and General McLane (407) seventh.

The top-5 individual scores were all shot by Ramblers or Trojans. McDowell’s Skyler Carr (74) was second, with Prep’s Luke Misko and Zach Henry tied for third at 75. Trojan Max Paris (78) was fourth with Rambler Breckin Taylor (79) fifth. McDowell’s Joey DeAngelo and Meadville’s Ryan Ferry tied for sixth at 80. LeBoeuf’s Dalton Houpt (81) was seventh, followed by Pearson and Blum. Trojan teammates Jackson Linden and Will Neumaier tied for 10th at 87.

The Bison are set to host the next mega match Monday.
