CLARION, Pa. – The Warren Area High School volleyball team took third-place at the loaded Clarion Tournament on Saturday.

The title was won by the host Bobcats.

The Dragons dropped just two sets all day, winning their morning pool with a 5-1 record. Those victories came against Cambridge Springs and Wilmington, followed by a 25-23, 25-16 crossover sweep of Fort LeBoeuf.

The earned the No. 2 seed heading into the playoffs and again defeated LeBoeuf, this time in the quarterfinals, 25-15. Their day ended with a 25-17 setback to Clarion, the No. 2 ranked Class A team in Pennsylvania.

Clarion then went on to beat Maplewood in the finals, 25-17, 25-21.

“It was a good day of playing well against very tough competition,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan. “Everyone on the team worked well together and we feel like we got better and more than held our own playing at a high-level all day.”
