Dragons blank Oilers

OIL CITY, Pa. – The Warren Lady Dragons took their offensive onslaught on the road Wednesday and toppled Oil City, 7-0, in a weather-shortened game.

Five different Warren players recorded goals. The game was stopped after the first half due to the severe thunderstorms that rolled through the region. The game will still be recorded as a complete game.

“We played well tonight,” Warren coach Jeremy Bickling said. “It’s always important to see the girls be productive and score goals … but I was pleased that they are taking ownership of trying to use games like tonight as an opportunity to improve.”

Kyleigh Wilson and Kyra Wotorson each scored a pair of goals. Wilson also had two assists.

“Kyleigh and Kyra continued to make life difficult for goal keepers this week,” Bickling said.

MJ Fadale, Mikaala Deppen and Georgie Bickling each had a goal in the win. Bickling assisted on both of Wilson’s goals. Ella Ordiway and Sawyer Mohney each recorded an assist as well.

While the Dragons were busy peppering the Oilers keeper, to the tune of 34 shots in the half, Warren keeper Alyssa Anderson didn’t face a single shot on goal.

“The defense looked sharp sniffing out any attempts to play past midfield,” Bickling said.

Warren returns to the pitch at War Memorial Field Saturday to host Bradford.
