Dragon golf 5th at first match

ERIE, Pa. – Play officially opened for the fall sports season Thursday as the Warren golf team traveled to Erie for the first Region 6 megamatch of 2019.

The Dragons, as they did in nearly every match in 2018, finished fifth at the Beechwood Golf Course with a score of 367. Erie Cathedral Prep was first with a team score of 305. McDowell (309), Erie (348) and Meadville (353) rounded out the top five, while Fort LeBoeuf (383) was sixth and General McLane (407) seventh.

McDowell’s Skylar Carr had the top individual score, shooting a 72. Fellow Trojan Joey DeAngelo finished in a 5-way tie for second with Ramblers Zach Henry, Luke Misko and Breckin Taylor and Erie’s Kyle Westfall who all carded a 75.

Jared Bupp led the Dragons with an 86. Drew Swanson followed with a 90. Selvie Pearson (95), Teagan Gray (96) and Owen Blum (101) rounded out the scoring for Warren.

The next region megamatch will be held Aug. 26 in Meadville.
