ERIE – Warren finishes 6-0 in Region 7 after a 10-0 win over General McLane on Wednesday at McDowell High School.

After being postponed three times, the teams traveled to a neutral site. It took Warren a few innings to get going, but three consecutive doubles by Gracie Wood, Kelsey Stuart and Grace Wortman keyed a five-run fifth to take the lead.

In the sixth, Kiersten Hoffman, Wood and Stuart all blasted home runs over the left-field wall.

Ellie Lobdell didn’t need that much support as she struck out nine and allowed two walks and two hits in six to improve to 15-1.

Wood finished with four RBI, Stuart three, and Hoffman and Wortman had three hits each.

“We had runners in scoring position all day,” said Warren coach Jon Sitler, whose Dragons open in the District 10 4A playoffs on Monday against Hickory. “It was a matter of time before we capitalized. We had good at bats all game.

“Ellie showed a fire that was nice to see,” said Sitler. “When we play with that much energy and fire, it’s fun to watch.”
