Ike girls fall to Panthers
Eisenhower softball ran into a powerful Saegertown squad, falling 11-0 in 6 innings at Werner Park on Wednesday.
Lexi Head started on the mound for the Lady Knights. She struck out eight and allowed 11 hits.
The Lady Panthers scored three runs in the first inning and five in the fourth to assume control.
Madison Mohney broke up the Saegertown no-hitter in the sixth with a double.
“Saegertown’s pitcher was very dominant,” said Eisenhower assistant coach Amber Fox. “We played good defense for the most part. From day one, the girls have improved a lot, and we’re excited to see how the season goes from here.”
The JV team fell to Saegertown, 15-0.
The Lady Knights have a large group of young players, and they are continuing to make progress.
Mohney and Zoie Olson each worked on the mound for EHS.
Alex Pascuzzi had a hit for the Lady Knights in the third inning.
“Madison and Zoie both pitched well,” Fox said. “The girls are continuing to gain confidence and understanding of how the game works.”
Eisenhower is right back at it today, traveling to Cochranton to take on the Lady Cardinals.
