Dragon tennis too much for Harbor Creek

By Brian Hagberg 2 min read

Warren's boys tennis team picked up its fourth straight win with a 4-1 victory over Harbor Creek at Betts Park Thursday.

"We had impressive wins bookend a total team effort," Warren coach Travis Myler said.

Caleb Ei got things going at first singles with 6-1, 6-0 win over Jack Murphy. The Huskies' Art Thompson won a hard-fought match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, against Tyler Howard at second singles, but AJ Seyler got a 6-4, 6-2 win against Ethan Hillhouse at third singles to put the Dragons back in the driver's seat.

In doubles action, Eli Korb and Thomas Lucks won 6-7 (8), 6-1, 6-3 against Scott/Heyd at first, while Wesley Kiehl and Aidan Colosimo were 6-0, 6-4 winners over Heyd/May in second.

"It was a great day for a tennis match and our boy's hard work is paying dividends," Warren associate coach Thomas Pellegrino said.

Tyler Lowe and Ben Hampson were exhibition winners.

The Dragons move to 5-2 on the year, but face a tough stretch next week when they'll play five matches.

"The team is looking forward to a couple days of rest before we run the gauntlet again next week," Pellegrino said.

Warren opens the week with a double header against St. Mary's Monday.
