Cochranton powers past Eisenhower

COCHRANTON, Pa. – A 16-run first inning blew the game wide open and Cochranton rolled to a 19-0 win over visiting Eisenhower Thursday.

The Cardinals (3-1) collected 10 hits over the three innings played and took advantage of several Knights (0-3) errors. Megan Wright and Olivia Karns combined to allow just one hit in the shutout win.

“Cochranton hit the ball well, the girls didn’t field well today,” Eisenhower assistant coach Amber Fox said. “It didn’t seem like they were with it for us today. We talked about it and they didn’t have an answer.”

Madi Fetzeck picked up Eisenhower’s lone hit in the first inning.

“We’re still learning,” Fox said. “Hopefully we can come back Saturday with a better performance.”

The Knights are scheduled to host Cambridge Springs at Werner Park Saturday.
