ALTOONA, Pa. – It was a tough end to a great season for the Warren wrestling team.

On Saturday at Altoona High School, the season came to a close for the 10 grapplers that advanced to the Class 3A Northwest Regional.

Joey Arnold was the lone Dragon to advance to the semifinals.

Arnold, just a sophomore, was pinned by unbeaten State College senior Cole Urbas in the semifinals, before being pinned by Tanner Riggle of Central Mountain in the consolation semifinals.

For Avery Smith, Ryan Madigan, Alex Anderson, Donovan Fiscus, Kyle Swick, John Fankhouser, Zack Zinger, Jamo Douvlos, MaBrukhe Tagba and Arnold, it wasn’t the ending they were hoping for.

But, this is a Dragon team that finished second in the District 10 3A team duals and qualified 10 to regionals for the second consecutive season.

The present is good and the future is very bright.
