Ike boys pick up 2nd win

Saturday was a much-needed breath of fresh air for the Eisenhower boys basketball team.

Drew Williams led three Knights over 20 points with 24 as they rallied from a 4-point halftime deficit to beat Abraxas, 73-67 for their second win of the season.

Marcus Griffin led Abraxas with 24 points, 22 of which came in the first half as his team led 38-34 at the break.

The Knights came storming back, however, thanks to Williams, Jared Martone and Zane Alexander.

Martone scored nine of his 21 points in the fourth quarter and Williams buried five 3’s in the game. The trio, of which Alexander also had 21 points, sealed the game from the free throw line in the closing minutes, going 10-of-13 in the fourth quarter.

Abraxas won the JV game, 57-18. Dillon Benson led Eisenhower with four points.

The Knights return to action on Tuesday, hosting Cochranton.
