GROVE CITY, Pa. – Warren wrestlers rebounded from a hard-fought loss to Erie Cathedral Prep Thursday to turn in an impressive showing during the first day of the Fred Bell Tournament in Grove City Friday.

Five Dragons advanced to the quarterfinals, while three more are still alive in the conoslation rounds.

Avery Smith, Ryan Madigan, Zack Zinger and Billy Anderson won their way into the quarterfinal round, while Christian Papalia, Jamo Douvlos and MaBrukhe Tagba fell to the consolation bracket.

Sheffield’s Ethan Finch and Nick Knowles also advanced to the quarterfinals.

Wrestling continues today beginning at 8:30 a.m. The finals are tentatively scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
