TCCS boys fall at Union City

UNION CITY, Pa. – Tidioute had to face its first big road test minus two key starters at Union City Friday.

The Bears took full advantage of the undermanned Bulldogs to come away with a 61-14 win.

“Veasey and Kennedy didn’t play tonight,” TCCS coach Terry Cotterman said. “We rested them (tonight) because we didn’t think they’d be able to play back-to-back games.”

Even missing those players, Cotterman felt the Bulldogs were able to run their offense well in the first quarter, they just weren’t able to get shots to fall.

“The effort was there and we hustled our butts off,” he said. “Sometimes teams are just better. Union City is a good team.”

Both those players are expected to be available today when the Bulldogs host cross-county rival Eisenhower.

“We’ll be ready to play tomorrow,” Cotterman said.

The varsity only contest tips-off at noon.
