Maplewood too much for TCCS girls

Nakiesha Krouse poured in a game-high 22 points, including a career-high five 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough as visiting Maplewood defeated Tidioute, 75-33, Friday.

Maplewood dominated the first half, and led 39-7 at the break.

“We knew going into this game, Maplewood is a great team and deep with talent,” TCCS coach Christy Valentine said. “We can learn from playing games like these.”

The Bulldogs looked much improved in the second half as they scored 26 points. Kelsey Nuttall had six points and six rebounds in the loss.

“The girls continue to have great moments, but are definitely feeling the effects of being a small and undersized team,” Valentine said. “We will continue to set goals and learn to come together as a team. We will get to work over break and work on improving our communication and teamwork.”

Maplewood won the junior varsity game, 46-15.
