OIL CITY, Pa. – No matter the score or the opponent, the Warren Lady Dragons aim to improve each time they did the court.

They did that on Thursday in the Oil City Holiday Games against the host Oilers, rolling to a 64-17 win.

Warren (6-0) put the game to bed early, jumping out to a 26-2 lead after the first quarter en route to their second win of the season over OC.

“Our goal is to improve each and every game and we did that today,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “We got better.”

The contributions were very balanced, as Margo Loutzenhiser and Emma Ruhlman had 16 points each, while Riley Childress added 12.

In addition, Ruhlman led the team in rebounds with 8 and Childress had four steals. Sophomore Teagan Paris had 6 rebounds to go along with her five points.

Sophomore Taylor Kraft and freshman Cara Munksgard also saw the first varsity action of their young careers.

“We stayed at a high level, and that was huge,” LaVan said. “I was happy about that. And everybody got to play a lot.”

Warren will wrap up the 2018 portion of its schedule today when they play Karns City at 2:30 p.m.

The Gremlins are a program that has won multiple District 9 titles over the last decade, but come into action today winless and in a bit of transition.

The Lady Dragons’ JV team was also a big winner Thursday, 47-22. Halee Mineweaser led the way with 12 points, while Paris and Katie Madigan had 11 each.
