Eisenhower girls best Youngsville
The first installment of the girls basketball edition of the ‘Backyard Brawl’ went the way of the Eisenhower Lady Knights.
Emiley Wheeler poured in 22 points, while Lydia Giannini had 18 for EHS, which picked up its first win of the season, improving to 1-2 with a 54-29 win over Youngsville.
“All the girls played very hard on the defensive end,” said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue. “Alexis Courtney played a great game tonight. It’s the best game I’ve seen her play in a while.
Eisenhower jumped out to a 14-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
In addition to her 18 points, Giannini filled up the stat sheet, nearly recording a triple-double with 12 rebounds, 9 steals and 3 blocks. Wheeler added 9 rebounds and a pair of steals to her 22-point effort.
Erin Dunn had 12 points to pace Youngsville.
Eisenhower is right back at it tonight when they face another Warren County foe, hosting Sheffield.
