MEADVILLE, Pa. – In a meet that included a number of impressive district-qualifying performances, Meadville put an end to the Warren swimming hot-streak, earning an 89-80 victory in the boys contest and 112-57 in the girls.

Andrew Beyer had another strong showing for the boys, racing to victory in the 200 free (1:55.29) and 500 free (5:20.27) and was also on the winning 200 free relay team, along with Stephen Ashbaugh, Cade Johnson and Derek Hahn.

All of those swimmers had impressive showings of their own, with Ashbaugh winning the 50 free in a time of 23.69.

Max Harrison also won the 100 backstroke for the Dragons, who competed in their second meet in as many days.

For the girls, Sophie Olsen won the 500 free (6:04.53).

“We had a tough one tonight,” said Warren coach Russ Beyer.

“They caught us at a good time for them. But this will give us some more motivation for next time.”

The Dragons now have a bit of a break over the holidays, returning to action on Jan. 3 when they host McDowell.
