ERIE, Pa. – The Warren Area High School boys swim team finished third and the girls fourth at the Prep/Villa Invitational at the Hallman Aquatics Center on Saturday.

The Dragons’ Andrew Beyer took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.21.

“This team has something special going on! Each meet thus far, the kids have been getting after it every time,” said Warren coach Russ Beyer. “Having a new challenge of morning pre-lims and finals in the afternoon, they all stepped up in a big way. Most of our swimmers had their best times of the season in the morning session, and then again, a lot of them beat that time again in the afternoon session.”

Added Beyer: “I don’t know where to begin as far as what kid impressed me the most.”

Stephen Ashbaugh placed third in the 100 breaststroke and 50 free, including being seeded first in the 100 breaststroke after the morning session.

Katie Beyer finished fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 200 free.
