Fantastic finish: Warren junior Naomi Hahn races to medal stand at PIAA cross country championships
Warren’s Naomi Hahn finished off a tremendous junior season with a 21st place medalist finish at the PIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Hershey.
HERSHEY, Pa. – The third time proved to be a charm for Warren junior Naomi Hahn.
In her third trip to the PIAA cross country championships, Hahn had her best finish yet, earning a coveted state medal with a time of 20:26, good for a 21st place finish out of 214 competitors in the Class 2A girls race at Hershey’s Parkview Course.
As a freshman, she finished 38th and had a 53rd place finish as a sophomore last season.
Teammate and fellow junior Brianne Ristau, competing at states for the second time, finished 141st with a time of 22:35.
All-in-all, it was a great showing for the Lady Dragons.
“It was a muddy day and the course was very challenging in the second mile,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “We had a plan for the girls to maintain good position and attack the last mile. Great accomplishment making States to both these girls and an awesome way to end the season with a PIAA State medal. Very proud of these two and the whole team for every part they had in the success this season!”
